Nearly four years into its voyage, The Waterman Fish Bar remains one of the area’s most trusted seafood brands. Sharing the same DNA as Uptown spot Sea Level NC, The Waterman prides itself on exclusively serving domestic product (Canadian Salmon aside), with a focus on the Carolinas.
That’s not to say the menu isn’t varied though. In fact, the opposite is true. Culinary Director Charles Landry draws much inspiration from his New Orleans’ upbringing in dishes like the Seafood Gumbo, Blackened Seafood Platter, and NC Trout with Creole gravy. This counter-service burger spot serves a limited-menu featuring burgers, shakes, and craft beer. Believing in the theory that “less is more”, the team focus on quality over quantity. That’s not to say they don’t pump out burgers like the rest of them! Ace No. 3’s first location opened in Belmont Village (CLT) in 2019 and has been awarded “Best Burger” by Charlotte Magazine Editors and Voters ever since. More than juicy, nostalgic burgers, Ace is known for genuine hospitality and providing service beyond the counter.
